Farewell For the Record

So, yesterday was our final For the Record show on Flirt FM. Sad Face. But, when one door closes, another opens and I can now reveal Ian and I have been promoted to the Wednesday evening Happy Hour Slot (Wednesday 6PM – 8PM) when we return after the Easter break.

Bring. It. On.

I wound up doing a solo show yesterday as Ian has a chest infection. The station was fully deserted because of the midterm break so it was literally like broadcasting from the twilight zone. I’d forgotten how much of a challenge filling a whole hour is on your own. Tune in to hear me talking the best of nonsense (link below)

Without even realising it, most of the music is from Irish artists. I think I’m subconsciously still in Paddy’s Day mode. Here’s the full tracklist:

Calvin Harris – Acceptable in the 80s

Stone Roses – Fools Gold

Razorlight – Somewhere Else

The Kooks – Always Where I Need to Be

Little Hours – Tired

The Smiths – This Charming Man

The Vaccines – If You Wanna

Daithi – Love on Top ft Sinead White

Little Green Cars – Easier Day

Ham Sandwich – Apollo

Beirut – Gibraltar

Manic Street Preachers – A Design for Life

Fight Like Apes – Pretty Keen on the Centrefold

Neon Atlas – I Never Felt so Good.

Also, our talented Station Manager Paula Healy is putting together a radio-documentary series about Women in the Rising for Galway Bay FM starting this Monday on the Keith Finnegan Show. Be sure to tune in!
